The AlphaESS Smile B3 2.9kWh battery is a modular solution and is capable of being expanded to 17.4kWh for even greater storage capacity. Its all-in-one design is popular with installers and homeowners. AlphaESS systems have been pre-engineered and prepared in the factory, so that it saves us valuable time and minimises the chance of errors during installation.

In addition, its flexibility to add on more battery units with actual plug-and-play installation has been highly needed in the solar storage market.

Alpha Solar Batteries only use the safest battery chemistry available on the market – Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP). As a safeguard, we use extra casing for our batteries and have software integration to protect the battery from any potential damage.

The Smile B3 can deliver up to 3 kilowatts (kW) of continuous power. That’s perfect for running the essentials — such as your fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, television, computers, and a few other small appliances — all at once.

However, it’s important to understand what 3 kW means in practical terms:

It’s not designed to power high-demand appliances simultaneously. Running an electric oven, ducted air-conditioning, pool pump, or clothes dryer together would exceed its output limit.
You can still use those heavier loads, but they’ll need to draw from the grid if your total demand exceeds 3 kW.
In a blackout, the battery prioritises essential loads, not the whole house.

This makes the Smile B3 ideal for households that want to cover their regular energy needs, reduce evening grid use, and maintain core comfort during power cuts — without expecting full-home backup.
